3 months

Today Avery is three months old-- where does the time go??

Things about Avery at 3 months of age:

-She smiles a lot and knows who her Mommy and Daddy are :)

-Constantly chewing on her hands

-"talking" a lot

-She loves bath time and hates when we take her out to dry her off

-She also really loves her changing table. Diaper changes are fun (as fun as that can be) and it's also a good place to keep her entertained. Strange, I know!

-Still sleeping in the swaddle. We tried to transition out of it a few weeks ago, but she just wasn't ready. She is busting out of her swaddle a lot, but for now we are keeping her in it.

-During the night she must be very active (even in the swaddle) b/c we wake up to find her in a completely different location and position than where she started.

-She is still nursing and is still completely on breast milk. (This is probably more of an accomplishment for Mommy than Avery). Though still nursing, she is not the best eater and still refuses the second side during most feedings.

-She is still a good napper, though she has been waking up about 40-50 minutes into most nap and cries for a few minutes then falls back to sleep...not sure what that's all about.

-She is the spitting image of her Daddy

-Tummy time is not her favorite, but we manage to get maybe 5 minutes out of her before the screaming starts. She is also holding her head up for longer periods of time during tummytime.

- The bumbo is no longer her enemy

-Her "ocean wonders" play mat is by far her favorite - she smiles every time she sees "Mr. Octopus"

-She is on the verge of laughing, but is still trying to piece all of the sounds together

-She has been sleeping through the night since she was 7.5 weeks old and is now sleeping 11-11.5 hours every night since she was 9.5 weeks old.

-She hates when we get home and she is greeted with lots of slobbery kisses from Bailey- it always makes her cry.

-Avery loves to watch T.V..... and I mean she LOVES it. Mommy and Daddy will position her facing away from the television and yet she somehow finds a way to watch it.

-She has just recently started to squeal when she is excited about something

-She likes to look at "the baby" in the mirror

-She has excellent head and neck control and is getting stronger every day

-She is in 3 month clothes and still in size 1 diapers.

Avery is truly a blessing and we are loving her more and more each day. She is growing up way too fast and yet it's exciting at the same time. We love watching her learn and discover new things.
